Description
If you enjoy wearing silver jewellery, making your own is a great way to experience the process of designing and making your own special piece.
In this workshop you have the option to make one of the following:
- Bangle with a charm
- A ring
- A set of stacking rings
- Earrings/studs
- Pendant
I like to give various options – at least half of all people who make bangles go for thicker material, this does cost more depending on the size you choose and this is of course optional.
You will learn the entire process of making a bangle with an optional charm. From measuring the length of silver to use, cutting, soldering, texturing and shaping to the final stage of polishing. Choose to add a charm that you will need to make from silver sheet and involves more hammers, filing and soldering. All in all, a great experience and it will give you an insight into the process I enjoy so much.
Other things to note
Please ensure you have closed shoes with enclosed toes (a hot bit a silver between the toes makes me cringe), clothes to get dirty, jeans are ideal. Baggy, woolly tops are a hazard in the workshop. I have all the H&S gear you need. Hair is best tied back out the way, it’s very easy to singe hair.
The Parent and child experience is pretty much the same as the adult experience, as long as you know your child can concentrate for 4 to 5 hours – I have had a few children making rings and bangles and they did great! You might think that making jewellery would be mainly for girls, but both my boys enjoy making things in the workshop – okay, one mainly likes melting things – but the other now has his own range of jewellery and makes rings for me.
If you would like to make something else, please get in touch and we can discuss the options.
The private session option allows you to book the workshop for up to 6 people, no-one else will be able to book in with you.
